I went to go see Nine Inch Nails last night. Last show of the tour. It was pretty cool. I got the t-shirt.

I really so very much adore concert tee's. I always have to buy the concert tee that has the tour stops and dates. I was looking at my last NIN concert tee (when they toured with David Bowie) and I realized that they hadn't even put Las Vegas on the t-shirt. I felt cheapened a little. For these past ten years I've worn that t-shirt with pride only to discover that they didn't even care enough about me to put my city on the damn shirt. Pff.

Anyway, back to the concert. We missed the opening band. Saul somebody. Or somebody Saul... something. I dunno. We instead went to drink the cheaper drinks in the casino before paying much higher prices in the concert space. It's kinda funny actually.

And as the lights dimmed for Mr. Reznor, the smell of cannabis filled the air. I didn't partake this time, I was busy mixing alcohol with Lortab.
I don't even remember what he started with. I am completely impressed with his music selection though. He didn't force his new album on us too much plus he played a few that he HAS to be sick of singing.

He sang Hurt, which made my husband giddy, and they closed with Head Like A Hole.

I was slightly disappointed that there weren't screens to magnify Trent's Trentiness, but apparently he hates that shit, so they made it a light and screen image extravaganza. No explosions or lazers because that's getting a little lame...and dangerous in some circles. Good use of colors and strobes...and stuff.

Good times good times.

What I like about Trent Reznor is that he's not all, "WOOOOOOOOOOOOO MOTHERFUCKIN' LAS VEGAS!!! FUCK YEAAAAAAH!!!!" He's just a guy in a band here to play his music. The craziest he got was, "I'm sorry my voice is sucking today..(cleared throat)...but that's what's going to make me push it that much harder."

Oh yeah, and they smashed guitars at the end. That was the first time I've ever gotten to see forreal musicians smashing forreal guitars. I palpitated.
