Firstly, let me tell you about the Tony Award winning off-Broadway hit, Avenue Q.

If you haven't heard of it, it's a show with puppets a la Jim Henson Creature Shop, but not from the Creature Shop, but the puppets were created by someone who worked in the Creature Shop. (I love being unnecessarily wordy, don't I?) The show comprises songs such as: "What Do You Do With A B.A. in English?", "Everyone's A Little Bit Racist", "The Internet Is For Porn", "My Girlfriend, Who Lives In Canada" (reminds me of someone I know, you know who you are), and "The More You Ruv Someone". (which goes on, "...the more you want to keer dem. The more you ruv someone, the more he make you clyyyy.")

The show is a lot of fun. If you get a chance, by all means, especially if you were weaned on Sesame Street, which I would imagine is all of us.

I had expected a sole puppet show when I first heard of it, but that's not the case. The folks working the puppets are right there on stage holding and working the puppets and not even trying to ventriloquize it. (Real word, didn't even have to make it up!) Basically, the focus isn't actually on the puppets. I mean, these are Broadway performers, but what they say is a lot funnier when you think about it coming from a puppet.

AND...

Hot!!

Puppet!!!

ACTION!!!!!

SweartoGod.

The puppets don't have lower bodies, so there's no plush genitalia to really make you wonder what's wrong with these people, but it's implied.

The show is playing here in Vegas at the lovely place that I may or may not work, so I got free tickets. I probably would have paid $50, MAYBE $60 to go see it, but the lovely place that I may or may not work is charging $90-$100. I think that's a tiny bit much to see a puppet show even with the gratuitous sex scene. And that's probably why I don't head up the marketing division at the lovely place that I may or may not work. That and I don't have a degree to get anywhere near business decisions.

And now I rant...

I canNO' STAND it when people answer a comment I make in their journal in THEIR journal!!!!

Why? WHY?!?! Why do people do that? I have nothing better to do in my day than go and seek out answering comments to comments I've made? Do you know how many comments I make?

The first time that I know of that it happened to me, it was someone's LiveJournal, and it happened to be a funny entry, and everyone that had made comments before me, made very funny ones, so I happened to go back to the comment section. I read through and noticed my friend's name in her own comment section and thought that was pretty weird, then realized she was answering my comment. It just struck me as a little arrogant.

I mean, I realize that it seems to be common practice, especially in the LiveJournal community, but it still annoys the crap out of me. I think what annoys me the most about it is especially if you update frequently because then I have to find the entry that I put it on. It's like a treasure hunt that I didn't know I was a part of.

Oh wait, no, what annoys me the MOST, and the real reason I'm ranting, is when I expect that your comment to me is under my comment to you, so I go to seek it out, I finally find the entry that I commented on, and there's NOT EVEN A COMMENT TO ME THERE!!! I don't have that kind of time, people.

I even make it easy to comment to me. I supply my diary address so you can just click it and leave a comment in my comment section. It's about the same amount of work as leaving a comment in your own diary. Sure, then your comment won't make sense in reference to my entry, but it's my comments section, and I shall do with it as I please.

I also understand that I'm making a big deal out of nothing, but I'm just declaring that if you're going to leave a comment to me in your own diary, then just don't leave one at all. I won't see it. I'm not going to track it down. If you want me to be amused by your comment, then comment it TO me and not to yourself. I think that's fair.

I think it would be funny if the lot of you cursed me out in your comment section. Here's what I'll do, I'll answer it in someone ELSE's comment section, and you can go find it.

I'm not trying to be mean to anyone who may or may not have recently left a comment to me in their own comment section, but I've hit my limit. I waste enough time just reading everyone's damn diaries. I also waste enough time trying to be witty, clever, or just plain amusing enough in a comment (though I fail a lot (cough-GW-cough)), so I just don't want to do it. Band with me!! "Heck No, We Won't Track Down Comments. Ho!" Uh, no, I'm not calling you a ho, I just needed something to rhyme. It's an interjection, roll with it.
